The Starfall Cremation Urn opens and closes with a black lid that is notched not threaded. The lid can be sealed for permanent closure with adhesive (included). The Starfall Cremation Urn is made of fiber glass. Fiber glass cremation urns are lightweight yet offer strong protection for the ashes placed inside. 
 
Size-wise, the Starfall Blue Cremation Urn is considered adult size with a capacity of 190 cubic inches (can hold the ashes of a person who weighed 190 lbs. or less prior to cremation). It stands approximately 11 inches high.
